Most of the poems talked about me and my reflection with something or someone else. Most of my vignettes are about family because it's what I connect to the most. My first vignette was about my hair. I talked about how it is uncontrollable and described it as other things that I could also use to describe my personality. My second vignette was written about how I got my name and how my sister's name is actually my original name. After that I wrote about a day with my family in a winery we went to visit in Ensenada, Mexico. To follow up the vignette about how I got my name I wrote about what my name means. Last but not least I wrote about my favorite gift. I chose to write about my sister. Writing the vignettes was really fun because we got to take ideas from The House On Mango Street and put our own little spin on it. My favorite vignettes would have to be the one about what my name means, titled, Vah-Leh-Ree-Ah and the one about my sisters which is named My Not So Favorite Gift. I was really proud of these two because it's where I feel my personality and writing style really comes through. If I were to write the 5 of these vignettes again, I would take more time revising and asking for more feedback to make these stories more descriptive.
