I’ve always been passionate about political or controversial topics and always stand my ground regarding my opinions. This being said, I had many different topics in mind to choose for this project, as there are many things to be angry about at this moment. The topics I am most passionate about are immigration and women’s rights. Choosing my topic, for this project, was hard. Not because there isn’t things to be said, but because there is too many things to be said. After rounding up all the topics I had in mind, I found one that I felt was prominent and that needed to be more present in our environment. Sexual abuse is one of the few topics that I don’t hear being talked much about at our school, so I chose to shine a light on it. On the right, is the slide show presentation I created to inform my peers and teachers a little more about why I chose this topic.

This collage is about women expressing themselves in different ways and still deserving respect. No one should have to feel uncomfortable in how they dress, what they're doing, or where they're at simply because others do not know how to act. The lion represents the predator that is coming after a someone that did nothing to be chosen as the pray. I created this collage during an activity with the Museum of Contemporary art, San Diego. We've partnered with them in this project and they gave us the space and materials to make a very, very first draft of our zine covers! This has helped me understand that these survivors can look any way and be from any religion, ethnicity, and gender but that none of that makes them any less worth fighting for.
