3- Learning to build a park One of the very first steps we took in this project was building a community park in Logan Heights. This space was built to give the people of this community a space that is just for them. During this phase we got to work hands on with all of the same materials that we would be building the tiny home with so that we would be familiar with everything and we got a lot of practice with the power tools. Some other things we learned were how to make something that is structurally safe and one of the most important things; how to be a safe building company. One of my favorite things about this phase of the project was that we got to leave school campus and get our hands dirty. One of my strengths during this was that I used my communication skills to be able to get stuff done. I also learned how to do many different things while I was there because I was usually working on something different everyday. I worked on things such as sanding, cutting out wood, and carrying telephone poles. One of the things I feel was holding me back was that there was a lot of times where I would just not want to work because it was too hot or I was getting tired. I could have pushed myself harder by working for longer and only taken breaks when they were given to us.
